Bird Quiz by Steve Gerow
We will be posting on a regular basis three pictures (of different levels of difficulty) for you to puzzle over. The format follows that used in Birding magazine. However, you won't have to wait a month for the answer. You can click on the answer whenever you like.
Take your time. You are encouraged to use the resources you normally would to determine what bird you are viewing. That includes your own bank of information and birding guides. Pay special attention to the dates of the pictures for clues to plumage, likeliness of occurrence, etc. The photos were all taken in Santa Cruz County, so our county checklist could provide some additional clues
There will be an announcement on MBB when a new set of pictures is posted. If you have photos and want to put together a quiz yourself, let us know. And if you have comments, questions, quibbles about the quizzes, email Steve Gerow.
